Mobile and tablet sizes are essential in today’s fast paced world of Google Algorithms, and ever changing best practices. With over 50% of traffic coming from mobile devices on this website. Mobile compatibility and testing was a must for this project.
Custom code had to be implemented for several key features of the website.
1.) Whenever a customer had more than 30$ in their cart worth of product, Free shipping would automatically be applied, and all other shipping methods were hidden.
2.) Product SKU’s did not have to be unique. The case for this was that having different sizes for variable products, and having single products on other pages, allowed the same SKU to be implemented whenever it was needed.
Before and After Redesign
CBDDaily had been around for around since January of 2017 and was seeing an average of 2k in traffic. The site needed an aesthetic update, instagram, facebook, and more information. I suggested the use of blogs for all the sites not the least with this website. The inclusion of Instagram, and more sections describing what exactly the company did to give back also had helped. Descriptions of what some of the better products did in the form of sliders, and branding images helped the site skyrocket to what it has grown into today. Categorizing and styling the products page instead of having different sized images brought a cohesive look and feel to the brand. Finally, detailed ingredients in a clear easy to use custom table brought the whole site together.
SEO and Google Analytics
The introduction of site speed optimization, SEO, and installing Google Analytics to be able to track vital information was a game changer for CBD Daily. These three things (with the inclusion of blogs) were the single largest driver of new organic traffic to CBD Daily. The site went from making roughly 2k a month to well over 90k!
The site now enjoyed 44 thousand customers a month!
